Bamboo is a grass of the same family as wheat or rice and its growth is incredibly fast. In only two months, it can reach 20 meters high. There are more than 1000 different sorts of bamboo in the world and particularly in Asia.
To be used for crafts, bamboo is first cut into strips, then the object is formed through a mold and then consolidated with lacquer. After drying, it is sanded, finished and can be polished.
